Transport

The Centre is conveniently located in the downtown Brisbane area in the heart of the South Bank Precinct and can easily be accessed by car and public transport.

Transport options include:

  • The South Brisbane Train Station is located alongside the Exhibition Centre, providing fast and direct access to the International and Domestic airports (via Brisbane’s Airtrain), hotels and the Gold Coast. 
  • Brisbane's famous City Cat Ferries - cruise the Brisbane River and depart from dedicated access points every 30 minutes and every 20 minutes during peak hour. The nearest CityCat terminal is located at South Bank, a short stroll from the Centre.
  • There is a bus way station located with easy walking distance to the Centre.
  • The Centre has its own dedicated taxi rank and secure undercover car park providing 1,600 car park spaces, 24 hours a day. 
  • There are also set down and pick up bays for coaches, with parking available.

Easy access to the rest of Australia

Brisbane is the number one gateway to Queensland!

Brisbane Airport is conveniently located close to the city and offers a wide range of domestic, as well as international, flights. Whether you are planning a holiday in the Whitsundays or a quick trip to Melbourne, with the airport in close proximity you can easily access the rest of Australia, and the rest of the world.

Visitors to Australia can also make use of the nation wide rail system, to travel from city to city and see more of the country.  Alternatively, utilise one of the many interstate coach companies.

Public Facilities & Car Parking

The Convention Centre strives to be the best in everything it does including the provision of first class public access and facilities.

The well-being of visitors is of extreme importance to the Centre's Team. All events are arranged with the comfort and convenience of our guests always in mind.


Car Parking

As a visitor you will have the advantage of secure, undercover, accessible parking for more than 1600 motor vehicles, 24 hours a day.

Other car park facilities include:

  • internal elevators and stair access from the car park to the Centre
  • undercover set down and pick up bays for six coaches, with extensive on-site parking for additional coaches
  • 3 disabled parking bays available in car park 1 and 11 disabled bays in car park 2
  • pre-paid monthly passes allowing unlimited access and multi-exit passes for exhibitors

All parking passes can be purchased from our Business Services Office.


Smoking

We would like to advise visitors to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre that in accordance with Queensland State Government Legislation, smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Centre building.

In addition, smoking is not permitted within four metres of any building entry or door and is not permitted at any external catering area.

Public Facilities

The Centre boasts a wide range of facilities available to the public.

Some of these include:

  • a central information desk located in the main foyer
  • first aid facilities and trained staff
  • 30 telephones
  • banking facilities
  • ticketing facilities
  • elevator and escalator access to all floors
  • public toilets and restrooms on every floor

 

Disability Facilities

During the construction of the centre, architects and builders worked in close co-operation with key groups representing people with a disability. As such, the Centre boasts top accessibility and usability features for people with special needs.

Facilities and services include:

  • designated locations for wheelchairs and allocated spaces for carers in the Great Hall, the Centre’s main auditorium
  • wheelchairs available on request
  • restrooms for people with disabilities located on every level in the Centre adjacent to all meeting rooms
  • frontline staff trained in customer service and disability awareness
  • a multi channel infrared translation system providing translation facilities for hearing and sight impaired as well as non-English speaking delegates
